Maghera_Cricket_North_West_Web_VersionMaghera Cricket Club was formed in 2013 through the hard work of a number of enthusiastic and dedicated individuals who share a common passion for the game.

Since inception, the club has worked closely with Cricket Ireland to grow interest in the game in Mid Ulster area and now plays competitively in the North West Cricket Union league.

Maghera Cricket Club is a formally constituted club and has set in place plans to build a club representative of the whole community, providing a chance for both juniors and seniors, male and female the opportunity to develop skills through a healthy, active outdoor sport.

Maghera Cricket Club is eager to secure a more sustainable future for the club, built on the undoubted enthusiasm for cricket amongst its members and untapped potential that exists amongst the young people in the area.

To stimulate this interest further, the club has ambitious plans to develop a dedicated cricket youth programme; enabling school-aged children, regardless of their community background or gender, to experience the game.

Initiatives such as these, we hope, will create a more long-lasting legacy for the game in the area, increase its visibility and lead to positive health, social and cultural benefits.

Training takes place on a Monday and Thursday evening from 7-9pm, indoors at Magherafelt High School and outdoor Rainey School.
